Join us for an evening of connection, movement, and great music on Friday, May 8 at Shabu Studios in Portland. Doors open at 8:00 PM, with dance lessons from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM followed by a social from 9:30 PM to 12:30 AM.
The night features instruction from Mr. Ahombi and Jeff & Leah, with lessons in Kizomba and Bachata, plus music all night from DJ Panaflex. Whether you’re coming to build your skills, meet other dancers, or just enjoy a strong social floor, this is a great chance to learn and dance in one night.
Mr Ahombi
Mike Ahombi is an internationally recognized dance artist known for his work in Kizomba, Urban Kiz, Tarraxinha, and Tarraxo. Based in Ottawa, he is recognized for smooth technique, strong musicality, and a teaching style that balances precision, connection, and groove. Whether teaching fundamentals or exploring body movement and expression, Mike brings clarity, depth, and intention to every class.
Jeff & Leah
Jeff and Leah offer a vibrant, grounded approach to bachata with a special emphasis on Dominican Bachata, highlighting the musicality, rhythm, footwork, partner connection, and playful social energy at the heart of the dance. Known for creating a welcoming and engaging learning environment, they help dancers connect not just with the steps, but with the feeling, culture, and spirit of bachata, making their classes a great fit for both newcomers and experienced dancers looking to deepen their foundation.
